It was the morning of the 22nd and I was off to the airport for my flight from Calgary toToronto. I'm not sure what possessed me to take Air Canada - but never again! Twenty minutes before the flight was scheduled to take off - the flight was delayed. The gate was changed two times and an hour later we finally boarded. We backed away from the gate and they began de-icing the wings. Then the plane pulled forward and we were at the gate again! One passenger had some sort of emergency and had to deplane. Then the ground crew proceeded to pull a luggage container out of the plane and about twenty minutes later one of them emerged with one small piece of luggage. In all we were delayed by 2 hours. Ugh!
I took an Airporter Express down to Union Station in Toronto and I bought my GO Train ticket up to Aurora. I spent the night at my Brother Don and Kelly's house and then we drove up to Barrie to Ma's condo. One sleep and the next night we were at midnight mass. I enjoyed singing the Christmas Carols and at the end of mass, a lady turned around and asked if I wanted to join the Church's Choir. In one second I lifted her spirits by replying, "I sure would.", then I dashed her hopes by replying that I lived in Calgary. Years ago I did enjoy participating in the music ministry in that very church, St. Mary's with the Folk Choir.
